since i loved la fronteria i was hopeful and excited to read this book. however, after having read it, im sadly disappointed by the vagueness and repetition of the work. her words and thoughts are persistently elliptical, with some passages being more successful than others at describing the spirit that animates her life. a bit wishy-washy.
Essential reading for all those interested in cultural studies, spirituality, and/or the history of the Americas. There's a positive and detailed review of this new volume and a helpful overview of Anzaldúa's life and work by Romana Radlwimmer in the summer 2016 issue of _The Women's Review of Books_: [...]
I would imagine for someone with the time to read this book would find it a medium read. I would like to return this book.
