This is an excellent book for teaching children about the Aztec civilization. The illustrations are lovely, and the descriptions are clearly stated and appropriate for the grade level I taught (3rd grade). Some of the gruesome aspects of Aztec culture are touched upon but not dwelt on. The index in the book is a nice addition (containing vocabulary related to the Aztec culture including their diet). There is also a link to the publisher's website in the back of the book, which is still up and has some great graphics for Aztec studies. This is a great resource for the classroom.
